Who we are
The Cyfarthfa Foundation is a charity created to strategically lead the long-term development of Cyfarthfa Castle and Park at Merthyr Tydfil into a heritage attraction of national significance.
What we do
The Foundation is championing and progressing the development of Cyfarthfa: to expand the offer of the park, and to create a modern museum and gallery commemorating the past, addressing the present and looking to the future.
We continue to advocate for the transformative potential of the site with politicians, stakeholders, funders, patrons and other organisations and individuals, emphasising not only Cyfarthfa’s importance to Wales, but also its worldwide significance.
The Cyfarthfa Foundation also undertakes wide-ranging activities within the community to drive engagement with the site and provide opportunities for people to connect with Cyfarthfa’s culture and heritage.
